mounting

Give your reproductions and art photographs the flawless finishing touch by mounting them to a variety of substrates, ready for subsequent framing. We can backmount images up to 60”x120" on aluminum composite panel, archival foamboard and gatorboard. For those who want to showcase their art without a frame, we also offer hanging hardware options to make your final installation easy.

  • Aluminum Composite Panel (ACP) is a flat panel made up of two thin aluminum sheets bonded to a polyethylene core. The result is a lightweight yet rigid panel with excellent durability and weather resistance.

When used for mounting images, ACP provides a stable, rigid backing that is ideal for large format prints, artwork, and photographs. Images mounted to ACP can be displayed on their own by adding a metal sub-frame to the back, or can go on to be framed.

    Max Size: 60”x120”

    Thickness: 3mm

  • Gatorfoam is a lightweight, rigid foam board made of polystyrene foam with a paper-based veneer on both sides. It is a popular material for mounting images, artwork, and photographs due to its durability, strength, and ease of use.

Images mounted to ACP can be displayed on their own by adding hanging hardware to the back, or can go on to be framed.

    Maximum Size: 48”x96”

    Thickness: 3/4”, 1/2” or 3/16”

  • ArtCare acid-free foam board is a high-quality, archival-grade foam board that is specifically designed for mounting and framing artwork, photographs, and other valuable documents. It is made from a pH-neutral, acid-free paper core that is buffered with an alkaline reserve to resist acid migration and protect against deterioration over time.

Maximum Size: 48”x96” (Large sizes are recommended to be framed since the foam is subject to warping/bending; can be displayed on their own at smaller sizes)

    Thickness: 3/16”

Facemounted Photo to Plexi

facemounting

Display your reproductions and art photographs with the gallery-quality elegance and finesse of facemounting. Facemounting adheres your fine art prints directly to plexiglass or acrylic, resulting in a sleek, modern look. Our facemounted prints are done on archival glossy or metallic papers to help make the colours pop which, when combined with the facemount, results in a vibrant, gallery-quality image with an added sense of depth. We can facemount images up to 48”x96”, and offer hanging hardware options for those who want a frameless display.

  • We are proud to offer facemounting to Plexiglas™ with ACP backing and custom aluminum back frames, which protect pieces from warping and allow for easy installation. They offer a clean and modern way to present your artwork, with the back frame serving as a spacer between the image and the wall; thus giving the impression of artwork hanging in the air.

Full aluminum tube-frames and cross braces may be recommended for large pieces, while less costly aluminum U-channels are available for smaller-sized works. Standard FF grade Plexiglas™ is normally used, and Conservation grade (OP3) material is available by special order.

  • TruLife® Acrylic is the best available material for facemounting, giving your work the highest-resolution viewing experience possible. TruLife® gives you:

Amazing clarity - Formulated to transmit 98% of light in the visible spectrum, lending your work brilliant, crisp colour vibrancy.

Longevity - 99% UV protection protects your photos and art from fading.

Durability - Unlike other acrylics that attract dust and scratch easily, TruLife offers up to 20x the protection and stands up to frequent handling and cleaning.

Viewability - TruLife acrylic is manufactured with a proprietary, anti-reflective coating which eliminates distracting reflections and glare.

Giclee Canvas Stretching

canvas stretching

Having your canvas professionally stretched not only gives your artwork an enhanced and finished appearance but also helps prevent warping and sagging, ensuring your canvas print’s beauty is preserved over time. We offer professional canvas stretching services with 3/4” and 1.5” gallery wraps for images up to 62.5” wide, with various edge treatments (natural, mirrored, solid, etc) to suit your display preferences.

Image Lamination for Mounting

lamination & coating

Laminating your fine art prints can enhance the visual impact of your images while also providing added durability and longevity, especially for prints that will be displayed without glazing. We offer multiple lamination options to give you different finishes (matte/glossy) and protective qualities, and with our team’s expertise and attention to detail to ensure the cleanest lamination possible, you can enjoy your images in the same stunning quality for many years to come.

  • Our matte lamination provides prints with a satin matte finish. It helps cut glare without sacrificing colour detail or definition. It can be used on both paper and canvas inkjet prints.

  • Our scuff-resistance lamination gives prints a matte pebble textured finish. It is best for high-abrasion situations, and provides scuff resistance.

  • Hahnemühle Protective Spray protects digital Fine Art prints from external influences. The aerosol spray lays like a fine film on the paper, without changing the paper structure. It fixes colours of pigment-and dye ink and prevents an eventual colour fading also the intensity and the high brilliance of the colours stay permanently.

The coating increases the abrasion resistance of Fine Art papers, so the risk of fingerprint marks and scratches are reduced.

  • We use Breathing Color Timeless Varnish as an archival-certified canvas coating option that comes in high gloss, satin, and matte finishes.

It is designed to work best with Breathing Color products, including the Lyve canvas that we offer giclée canvas prints on. It has UV protection build right in, so your prints will last longer.
